Energy Conservation ' Bridgeville Youth Show the Way

Grade 4 learners at Bridgeville Primary recently won the national Energy Efficiency E-School Competition.  The school had been visited by a group from Africa Public Relations who promoted the online Energy Efficiency School Competition.  The competition was open to all grade four learners across the country and the focus was on saving energy in South Africa.

Bridgeville learners were very excited about the prizes on offer and, as they have a fully equipped Khanya Computer Laboratory, they enthusiastically logged on and emailed their entry forms ' all forty three of them!  They are fortunate to have an ADSL connection and the process did not take long at all.

The grade fours won for their school prizes to the value of R10 000 which included a Panasonic data projector, a Chronos Digital Camera and a camera bag.  In addition, five learners won Motorola cell phone packages.  Kirsty Weiner, Zhane Gorridon, Zhaun Moosajie, Shareef Carelse and Natasha Isaacs, all recipients of these cell phone packages had submitted winning suggestions for the conservation of energy.
