Computer Society of South Africa (CSSA) honours Khanya's Kobus van Wyk
Khanya's Programme Manager, Kobus van Wyk, was the proud recipient of the
CSSA Western Cape ICT Person of the Year award. The black tie event was hosted
by the Western Cape Chapter of the CSSA at the Castle in Cape Town on 14
September 2005. CSSA president, Moira de Roche and Western Cape Chapter
chairperson, Rene Chiat presented the awards.
Kobus becomes eligible for the national award to be presented at the CSSA
President's Annual Award Banquet on Wednesday 26 October 2005 at the Sandton Sun
and Towers Hotel. The ICT Personality of the Year Award recognises an ICT
professional who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the
SA ICT industry.
Mike Chiles, also of WCED, was honoured with the CSSA Life Time award. Woman
of the Year was Rita Whittington and Student of the Year, Wesley Dipoko. Western
Cape MEC for Education was the guest speaker at the prestigious event, which was
sponsored by MTN and Career Junction
In 2004 Kobus was second runner up for the Public Sector IT
Project Master award. This most recent award and past local and international
recognition (Stockholm Challenge Award and the Standard Bank CPSI Awards),
affirms the vision and commitment of Khanya, whose clients, are in Kobus' words
'the learners'.
