GENERAL INFORMATION

E-School Establishment

Once Khanya has assisted a school to obtain appropriate technology, the next phase focuses on transforming the school into an E-institution. This involves considerable training of the educators to assist them to come to grips with the use of technology in the curriculum delivery process, which is the primary goal of Khanya.

For further details on the different aspects involved in this phase, click on the relevant item below:

  • A Generic Project Plan is used as the basis for developing a unique plan for each school, which describes the desired outcomes and timelines
  • A Khanya Facilitator ,having undergone an inhouse training programme,is appointed to assist the school in attaining the goals as set out in the project plan. A general implementation plan for each of the focus learning areas/subjects directs the day to day activities in the process
  • It is the ultimate goal that every educator will use technology to support curriculum delivery in every learning area, but initially a focus area is selected in consultation with the school. Focus areas are currently: Numeracy and Literacy in Primary Schools, Secondary Mathematics, and Secondary English. Secondary Science and support to learners with educational challenges is currently being developed
  • Educator Training Modules are used to provide basic technology training for educators
