Cape WinelandsThe newly established District of Cape Winelands’ Head Office is situated in the picturesque Boland town of Worcester. Surrounded by the impressive Brandtwacht, Overhex and Langeberg mountain ranges and enveloped by the fertile Hexvalley, with luscious green vineyards, Worcester is the port to the Breederiver Valley. The Cape Winelands Education District covers a vast area, starting from the furthest point, Touwsriver, and stretching as far as Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Worcester, established in 1820, is the largest town in the Breede Valley and is situated on Route 62, the longest wine route in the world. The District Director, Mr. Clifton Frolick, new Strategy and Communication Division’s, Mr. Hein Marais, and Khanya District Co-ordinator, Mr John Scipio, ensure the synergy that exists between the District Management Team and the Khanya Project Team. The Cape Wineland District’s efficiency is streamlined by eight Circuit Teams, each with its own Circuit Team Manager and four Circuit Offices situated in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington and Ceres. The Cape Winelands’ Khanya Team, under the dynamic leadership of John, consists of Simon Speelman, District Implementation Project Manager, and a team of highly efficient facilitators. The District’s Services Manager, Wynand Cilliers and head technician, Bertram De Wee, strive to ensure that maintenance of high standards is enforced. The Khanya Team adheres to the vision that Khanya envisages, namely to mentor and support educators to reach Khanya’s, as well as the school’s curriculum goals and the Integration of Information and Communication Technology with the Curriculum. |
