Metropole Central

Metro Central Education District serves, as the name suggests, the central area of Cape Town, including Sea Point, Maitland, Manenberg, Athlone, Langa, Kenilworth and Rondebosch. The Director of this District attributes much of their success to the Khanya Project's commitment to curriculum delivery using Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The Khanya team serving that area has been allocated office space to facilitate the smooth co-ordination of Khanya's work in the District.

A communication forum, established by the Director through the Circuit Managers,
ensures that progress is monitored and information is shared in a monthly meeting at the District office in Mowbray. Khanya Project Managers have access to necessary technical advice and information from the Information Technology staff, who officially liase with Curriculum Advisers and advise on the location of new laboratories. This collaborative relationship facilitates effective curriculum delivery using ICT in this densely populated area.
