Astra School
Astra Primary is situated in the Montana area but serves physically disabled learners and learners with special learning needs from a widespread community.
While Astra Primary is a special needs school, it follows a mainstream curriculum and the facilities the learners have access to in the Khanya laboratory are essential to ensuring that learners are able to meet the curriculum requirements. Here they are able to access the resources they need to complete projects and assignments and the software available to them is tailored to cater for their needs. Workstations have also been specifically designed to enable learners to access them with their wheelchairs.
Educators and learners are excited about technology and they are enthusiastic users. All classes use the laboratory regularly and this has enriched and broadened their educational experience.
