KHANYA SCHOOLS

Tableview High

Tableview High School, situated in the Tableview area, strives to equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary for the “real” world. Their goal is to educate their learners on international standards.

A few years back, the school started to embrace technology by introducing learners to computers. The school was fortunate enough to set up a computer laboratory which is used for computer related subjects. The technology is also used by educators in their daily administrative tasks and lesson preparations. Recently the school received an electronic whiteboard as supplied by Khanya for curriculum delivery. The board is mobile and can be used in any classroom. Educators were very excited about the introduction of this new technology and about the training they have received to ensure that the IEWB is effectively used.

School management is very positive and proactive about technology, recognising the importance of it for their learners as demand for technology skills increases in the job market.

With technology learners feel more confident and involved in achieving the lesson objectives and they are readily able to measure their progress. At Tableview High, the educational experience is enhanced by this interactive aspect of curriculum delivery.

The successful application of the Mindset software means that educators can now look for and source complete lessons in their learning area. Training with the Khanya facilitator is ongoing and is determined by the particular needs of the school and the educators at the time.
