A Project of the Western Cape Education Department
KHANYA SCHOOLS

Heideveld Primary

Heideveld Primary has a prefabricated school building that reflects the poverty of the poor Cape Flats community that it serves.

Khanya's security requirements have presented a challenge to the school and community. The school has to secure funding and provide a suitable venue before it becomes a Khanya partner school. A careful survey revealed that a new computer laboratory should be built on the school grounds.

The management and staff, determined to include their learners in this opportunity to progress through technology, are currently searching for partnerships and donations to help meet the costs of a new classroom.
