KHANYA SCHOOLS

Abedare Primary

Situated in Delft in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, Abedare Primary serves a severely impoverished community. The school is a new one opened in response to a demand for education for the growing number of learners in the area that cannot be accommodated in the existing schools. Currently housed in prefabricated buildings, Abedare Primary’s permanent housing is currently under construction.

It makes sense to equip the school with the physical or infrastructure requirements to install technology while it is being built. As members of the Khanya Project, learners at Abedare Primary will soon have access to technology in their own Khanya computer laboratory where the initial focus will be on literacy and numeracy.

Abedare Primary educators are excited that their learners will soon not only have a decent building in which to learn, but they will have access to the latest technology to ensure that they develop skills that will position them to secure good jobs in the future.
