KHANYA SCHOOLS

Teslaarsdal Primary

In 2002 Teslaarsdal Primary, situated near Greyton, became part of the Khanya Project giving many of their learners an opportunity to see a computer for the first time ever.

Teslaarsdal associates the launch of the Khanya Project at their school with a fresh, innovative approach to education. This paradigm shift by the school is reflected in a more creative and structured approach to curriculum delivery. The learners greeted the opening of the computer laboratory with a fervent hunger to learn the basic skills. Similarly, educators embrace every opportunity to develop skills that enable them to enhance curriculum delivery.

Having tasted the early fruits of education through technology, Teslaarsdal intends installing at least eight computers in each classroom.

On 26 October 2005 Teslaarsdal achieved e-school status. This means that they are now independently moving forward with the technology supporting the curriculum and the Khanya facilitator assumes the role of guardian and can be called upon by the school for advice and guidance.
