KHANYA SCHOOLS

Dawn LSEN Skool

Dawn Special School is situated in Atlantis but serves the learners with special needs from Atlantis and the surrounding towns as well as from farms as far away as Malmesbury and Darling.

Technology has the potential to empower these learners despite their disability and the Rotary Club had installed a few computers in response to this need. Some of the learners who have had access to this technology have responded very favourably and are able to work with the appropriate software and make real progress.

With the extension to their existing technology facilities that Khanya will provide, more learners will be able to benefit from more regular access to the technology. Educators are very excited about the developments at the school and eagerly look forward developing their own technology skills and using the technology to deliver the curriculum to their learners. They hope, ultimately, to develop in their learners skills that will allow them to become functioning members of society.
